Navigon 2100 GPS Navigation System Review
This NAVIGON 2100 3.5″ Touchscreen LCD Gps System is an affordable Touchscreen GPS packed with features typically seen in high end GPS. Key Features include touchscreen Interface, Turn-by-Turn Directions, 3D map view, and 1.3 million points of interest
Usability:
* Set up: The Navigon Ready to go out of the box. Simple interface and quick set up
* Touchscreen interface: Works well, have only had a couple misses. All in all easy to use interface. Bright, clear screen with easy to understand menus
* Suggests street names as you enter in street names
* Notifies driver as route approaches
* 3 D View: This was a bit lacking, as it really seemed that it could have been better. However, it should be noted that a free software upgrade has is available that addresses this. (have yet to try it)
Function:
* Turn-by-turn directions: Loud and Clear. No issues with missed streets, etc. Also highlights lanes, which is a neat feature that is absent on many of the more expensive units
* Route recalculation is quick and accurate
* Battery Life: 3-4 hours, which is Comparable to other units
* Quickly finds GPS signal
* Points of interest: Not all Fire and Post offices are present
* Altitude, Speed Warning and Route Advisor are very neat features
All in all the Navigon 2100 GPS is a great value for the price. As far as a good basic GPS system that does gets the job done, I don’t think you can find a better value. It also has many extra features that are not found in other GPS Systems in its class.
Prices (at the time of publication). Most vendors have this system priced @ under 150.00. A search of Amazon, Tiger Direct, and Staples against our store pleasantly revealed that we had the lowest.
