They can now know when to expect the trucks to arrive and they can plan stocking and warehouse logistics. Your company can get a huge competitive advantage over competition by being able to provide this type of detailed information to your partners.
Consumer GPS navigation devices are extremely popular as well. Companies such as TomTom and Garmin are industry leaders. The units are plugged into a Car Lighter and can even store a battery charge in case the car’s battery fails.
Unfortunately, GPS navigation units do have limitations. There are still many areas of the world where the location has not been thoroughly mapped and placed in the unit’s Hard Drive. This will cause major problems if the road they are driving on doesn’t show up on the map. They will only appear based on their longitude and latitude.
